1: A person who is "on the hook" will be overly infatuated with another person. The person who is the desired generally takes little notice (and often complete advantage) of the person who is on the hook. Often times the person who is on the hook is a back-up. Signs that you are on the hook:

1: When a girl likes you but does not plan on committing to you, but keeps you around just in case something goes wrong

  * e.g.,  ... Ted was On The Hook with Lili

1: Catchy part of a song that draws in the listener. not necessarily the chrous.

  * e.g.,  ... yo, i love the hook on the song.
